All 12 chairpersons of BAIT over the years received honorary plaques
The Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT) celebrated its 30th anniversary with a film that tells the history of the organization. The video takes a look back at the significant moments over the years for the ICT industry, the establishment of regulations and the challenges of the free market, as well as the causes that BAIT supports. Through the eyes of the chairpersons, funny incidents, conflicts and the joy of the achieved successes come back to life, as well as the emblematic BAIT Expo back in the years as a provider of the innovative spirit of technologies of that time, so that nowadays we have exceptional achievements of Bulgarian ICT companies, which are among the leaders in the global market.
The premiere screening of the film “30 Years of BAIT” took place at WTC Interpred last night, October 14, and gathered an audience of nearly 250 people. Representatives of the ICT industry, related and employer organizations, representatives of the state administration and the media were among the guests of the event.
Тhe anniversary was also an occasion to honor all 12 chairpersons of BAIT. The gentlemen and the first lady chairwoman of the Management Board were awarded honorary plaques for their dedication and efforts, which they have dedicated to BAIT and upholding the priorities of the ICT sector during their mandates. The festive mood was complemented by cake and friendly conversations at the cocktail party that followed.

Currently, BAIT, established in 1995, has over 100 members, employing 16,000 ICT specialists and generating 4% of the country’s GDP. The companies cover the entire ICT spectrum – software, hardware, telecommunications, system integration, fintech, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence. BAIT is the organizer of the annual competition “BAIT Awards”, through which for 15 years now it has been honoring projects and individuals that demonstrate the capabilities of Bulgarian companies as creators of competitive IT products and services on the global market.
