BAIT Organizes “Digital Single Market through e-government and Digital Entrepreneurship” Round Table

With the special participation of Andrus Ansip, European Commission Vice President and Commissioner for Digital Single Market

A round table themed “Digital Single Market through e-government and digital entrepreneurship” will take place on April 20, 2015 /Monday/ at 16.00 hrs. in Sredets hall, Sofia Hotel Balkan (former Sheraton). The event is organized by the Bulgarian Association of Information Technology / BAIT / and Eva Paunova, Bulgarian MEP.

The round table is held within the Watify project, which is coordinated in Bulgaria by BAIT.

The topic is hot within the European Union as it is moving to a digital single market. Thus, EU member states are required to create their own digital single market, which should include the following elements – e-connectivity of business and citizens in every part of the country, e-services for business and citizens, digital transformation of the economy, digital entrepreneurship and education which includes the new skills required for the digital market, innovation and protection of information.

Andrus Ansip, European Commission Vice President and Commissioner for Digital Single Market will be a special guest at the round table. He will make a 20-minute exposé on “Trust, services, transparency – e-government as a key element of the European digital single market”.  The first panel will be attended also by Rumyana Bachvarova and Tomislav Donchev, Vice Premiers of Bulgaria, Ivaylo Moskovski, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and John Higgins, Director General of the European IT association Digital Europe.

The second panel of the event will be dedicated to the promotion of digital entrepreneurship and the creation of e-mentoring ecosystem.

All participants at the round table will answer to questions from the audience during the discussion.
