The excellent cooperation between the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT) and the Employment Agency continues – the first training of employees from the Employment Agency and the labor offices in Sofia within the partnership initiative eSkills for Jobs 2015-2016 was held yesterday.
15 experts in employment issues acquainted with the goals and objectives of the campaign eSkills for Jobs – what’s included in the catalogue with the current courses in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), what are the types of training provided by private companies in the IT sector in Bulgaria and how this information could be useful to the registered unemployed. The training was held by Vessela Kalacheva, Executive director of BAIT and national coordinator of the eSkills for Jobs 2015-2016 campaign.
A significant part of the courses and seminars are free, some of them also provide job opportunities for the most successful participants. Some courses are designed for absolute beginners in the ICT field and therefore suitable for retraining, others require prior knowledge base with the idea of a future specialization. For those living outside Sofia there are courses with a distance learning form.
At present the catalogue includes 33 educational initiatives of 31 companies and it is updated every day as trainings are not linked to a particular season or semester.
There is also a special section at the eSkills platform for vacancies in the ICT sector, which is also updated regularly.
The Employment Agency has been a partner of the eSkills for Jobs 2015-2016 campaign since July with the commitment that labor offices throughout the country would provide information on current ICT training courses.
In the process of individual counseling employees of labor offices will introduce to the registered unemployed persons the possibilities to include in any of the existing training and job vacancies in the sector.
The aim is that unemployed young people with qualifications different from ICT to be able to retrain and to improve their #eSkills and have a better chance of finding work. Employment Agency’s data show that there is substantial proportion young graduates in humanities, who are registered as unemployed at the moment.
